Young Men's Field Trip: National Center for Civil and Human Rights
To commemorate Black History Month, three local organizations teamed up to take 50 teenage males from Southwest High School and Northeast Health Science Magnet High School in Macon, GA on a field trip to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta.
This day-long trip provided the students with the opportunity to learn the importance of the Civil Rights Movement and how it impacts their everyday lives. Attendees were encouraged to discuss what they learned. Lunch was provided and gift bags/t-shirts given to each teen.
